One day before Paris, there was a devastating terrorist attack you didn’t hear about

A day before the Paris attacks, suicide bombings in Beirut on Thursday left 43 dead and 239 wounded. The attack was reportedly carried out by an ISIS cell from Syria The explosions took place in the southern part of the city near a busy open-air market in the Bourj al-Barajneh district. The city is still reeling. “There’s a lot of shattered glass on the street, a lot of blood, and it’s really just a scene of chaos and carnage.“

The carnage in Beirut was likely mitigated, however, by the heroic behavior of one man, Adel Termos (bottom photo). Termos was in the market with his young daughter when he witnessed the first explosion — he then took action that likely saved many lives.
